Ode to Brother Malcolm

24 Sep

My Man was so misunderstood
stood for Justice
not hate.
In his search for truth,
in a time where there was so little to be told,
he was welcomed with bullets.

So eloquent were his words,
as beautiful as the man he aspired to be,
daring to live his life.
He taught me to be a man of principle
when my truth seeking nature
brought me to his message
during my quest for light.

No doubt in my mind
had he not met his untimely end
that the world would be a more tolerant
(and tolerable) place.
